Food was cold when arrived. I was so hungry I just asked the server to heat it in the microwave. My husbands food was also cold and tasteless. Chicken fried steak was not very good. The kids enjoyed their kids breakfast, but you can throw syryp on almost anything and they will eat it. The server Sierra was pleasant and attentive. She was extremely busy but still was able to get everything the kids asked for in a timely manner. I will not say it's the worst but I will not return. We spent about $60.00 for the five of us.

Village Inn used to be our "go to" place, for comfort food, especially for breakfast. But for some reason, the last several years, their service has been sub par. They claim that because they are a franchise that they do not have many of the foods on the online menu. This is even after you input your location. Many of the foods are foods that they had served for years, yet for some reason, they no longer have them. I just don't get it. So, anyway, I hadn't been feeling well and was craving a grilled cheese. I mean like a more complicated grilled cheese. So, the online menu shows an "adult grilled cheese". Mozarella cheese, Cheddar cheese, and American cheese with tomato and bacon in a bread encrusted with Parmesan cheese. Now I had had this sandwich several times at their sister restaurant Baker's Square and it was excellent. So my husband comes home with the sandwich and there it is... Bread with a dab of butter and parmesan in the center of it. Open up the sandwich and there is a dab of some sort of cheese in the center (American cheese?) a 1" piece of bacon falling out, another 1" piece of bacon thrown in there and a tomato. All in the center of the half of sandwich. Dry bread making up most of the sandwich, not a thing on it, and certainly no Mozarella or Cheddar cheese. This sandwich sincerely looked like a two year old made it. Who ever made this sandwich should have been fired! I complained to corporate who said they weren't affiliated with the local franchise but that they would pass it along to local. I have not heard a peep from anyone about this sandwich that cost over $8 and was worth about a penny at best.

Many of us fondly refer to Village Inn as ''Good Dennys" The main attraction for us is the hours, (great if you get home from work at 4am and don't want to make dinner), reasonably priced good food, and great service. It's a casual atmosphere, with amazing waiters and waitresses.

Same as the other VI, only good for after the bar... and you'd better be purdy toasted to go here! Decor=bad, food=pretty bad, service=spotty

The server completely abandoned us toward the end of the meal and the supervisor Robert was rude when we asked to split the bill we had to ask him due to the fact we had to flag down another server to get the bill you'd be better off somewhere else

My best friend in college basically spent every day raving about how much she loves Village Inn. She's from Texas (now living in Las Cruces, NM) and well, I'm not. Finally, I made my way over to visit her in her neck of the woods and, of course, Village Inn was the first place she took me. I walked in with relatively low hopes because the place is more-or-less the same as any other diner across this great country. The first competitor that comes to mind is obviously Denny's. Everyone thinks it, so I may as well add it to my review. We walked in around 8am on Monday morning and the place was pretty dead. No matter to me, I was starving after traveling and I'm glad we didn't have to wait for a table. The decor is pretty minimal. Lots of neutral colors; browns, oranges, with some yellow accents. My friend was telling me most of the locations are kept to the retro 60's diner feel, but this one was just fixed up to look more modern. The menu is jam packed with any type of American comfort food you or your little stoner buddies could ever want. Most options are also accompanied by pictures of what the dish looks like (ugh). Like I said, low expectations. Although, I gotta admit, my hopes were raised a bit when I came across the V.I.B. section of the menu. It's the special insert called Village Inn Breakfast. Yes yes, super original, I know. However, it's pretty awesome. You get four choices of 30 options for under $8. Uhmm, that's when I went to town! I got the strawberry crepe, two scrambled eggs, hash browns, and two slices of French toast. The food, I must admit, was a large step above Denny's; hence the 3-star rating when Denny's automatically will always receive a 1-star from me. The French toast was small, but I wasn't expecting much since it was so cheap. The eggs and hash browns were great and the crepe was amazing too. It's not the typical crepe you'd get in France, because let's face it, we're in middle America here. However, when you're starving like I was it tastes great! Village Inn won't give you the best meal of your life. However, it will give you a large portion of perfectly satisfying food and leave you with money still in your wallet. When I'm on vacation, that's really all I care about!

I usually love village inn (I'm from El Paso) so I was looking forward to my usual meal. The food is always great here I can't complain about that but the service was horrible. We had dirty plates on our table till we left, I had to ask over and over for ranch, never got one refill and the chips and salsa came so late they were not an appetizer at all. The girl was new so it's not her fault but the manager never once came by to assist us.

Ashleigh, child, bless you for calling Village Inn the "Good Denny's." I went here for the first time on Christmas Eve - mostly due to the fact that it was the only thing open in all of Las Cruces. I know Ashleigh says this is the "Good Denny's," but frankly I can't really tell much of a difference between Village Inn and Denny's. The decor is pink and turquoise and can only be described as the Restaurant that time forgot. The service was good but I suspect that was partially because it was Christmas Eve and there weren't many people in the place. The food was forgettable, much like Denny's. Village Inn strikes me as the type of place that is only good after you've been out drinking and you are starving and only greasy, disgusting food will do.

I'd like to congratulate this particular Village Inn for giving the poorest service I've ever had.. Round of applause. We did come in late the other night after I had driven 3 hours from Albuquerque..probably about 3am. The restaurant didn't seem busy enough to really justify the 5-6 people working in the front but I was VERY wrong. The hostess sat us at a booth next to another table of four and we listened intently as the table asked their server twice over the course of 10 minutes for a box and their check and never got it. Sadly, we also had the same server and our table and the table next to us were the only two tables she had. She brought us our drinks and walked away for about 15 minutes, eventually coming back to ask us "Did I ever take you food orders?" ..."No, you didn't, but I see how easy it is to forget about the TWO measly tables you have..." The table next to us finally stormed up to the front with still no bill or to-go boxes and told the manager that the service was horrible. They also wished us good luck on the way out--How sweet of them. When the food came out, my potatoes were cold in the middle and I asked the server for butter for my toast twice before I got it. She didn't check on us again until after we had finished our meals. Meanwhile, another table walked in and wasn't greeted by any of the 5-6 people working in the front and seated themselves at the booth next to us. When we left, they still hadn't been greeted by anyone and it had been 15-20 minutes. I did inform the girl at the front when we left that not only was our service FAR BELOR PAR.. but that somehow nobody had looked around the restaurant in the past 15-20 minutes and noticed the new customers. Overall, the manager on duty is a moron, our server was miserable, and it being 3am is no excuse. Especially with the sheer amount of staff. I'd be ashamed to be employed there and I'm ashamed that they were able to get a penny out of me.

We have visited the local chain, Village Inn, for breakfast twice. Our experience at the Village Inn is okay. We have had better breakfasts in town, and we have had breakfasts that were of similar quality. When we go out for breakfast, which isn't very often, we usually think of other places to go first.

II would like to start by saying, Wow. I have never had this kind of experience. My girlfriend and I walked in after a movie to have pie. The hostess greeted us as though we were homeless and reluctantly showed us a booth. We sat in our booth for 15 minutes as we looked at waiters conversing at the hostess stand, having what seemed like a summit by the pie case, and generally conversing about God knows what. A gentleman who seemed to be a manager had to tell a pimply faced kid to come take our order. I was hoping he wasn't going to get our pie. He took our order and informed us another waiter would bring us our order. We sat for 25 minutes this time, talked to three other waiters, and finally got our pie. I ordered cold apple pie. It was hot. Super hot. Never again will I go there for anything. They retro-ed the interior but not the service. So, great job Village Inn, atleast you got the drinks right.

Depending when you go to village inn. it's either the best thing on this earth or it's the worst. sometimes when i ask for a big breakfast they come back with a small breakfast! or i should say small portions. but there are days when i go in and i get a lot of food. but it's a nice chill place for when you are done with partying all night you can always go there and it will taste good for sure. and then for you church go-ers. perfect for the family. there are lots of pros and cons to this place. but at the end. i usually come out of there with a happy face :D
